The Twelve Business Days of Christmas:
24 new jobs created by DCU's LINK Start-ups

Each business day from 1st to 20th December, a team of staff and students from Dublin City University will launch 12 new internet startup businesses.
The '12 Business Days of Christmas' initiative developed by Dublin City University's Leadership, Innovation and Knowledge Research Centre (LINK) will kickstart brand awareness of 12 new Internet companies, providing a range of services from mobile application design, e-commerce, and web TV. Together, these companies will employ over 24 people in 2012. A separate business will launch on each business day (excluding December 6th and 7th due to the announcement of the Budget) from 1 December to 20 December. Each day will focus driving awareness of one company building awareness through traditional and social media. The initiative is supported by AIB.
The twelve companies are clients of the LINK Research Centre at DCU or startups formed by recent DCU Business School graduates, a research unit attached to DCU Business School. They are:
- Smartouch Media - Mobile Applications and Web Design and Development
- Talentevo - Online Performance Management Solutions
- Edubills - Online Payment Systems for Parents and Schools
- Sanncus - Online Software Asset Management Tools
- My Doggy Hotel - Online Kennel and Cattery Rating and Booking Systems
- Rentview - Online Rent Management Software
- CompareBookPass - E-commerce Platform for Driving Lessons and Instruction
- Imagine Sunglasses - Online Retail Site for Sunglasses
- AerTv - Web Television Service
- Nimble Tours - Multimedia Tour Applications for Mobile Devices
- Dairy LIMS - Online Software for Laboratory Information Management
- Maybe Video - Online Video Platform for Property and Real Estate
The LINK Research Centre is an applied research centre that works closely with entrepreneurs, startups and established businesses. Businesses and individuals are supported and mentored to help develop their ideas into fully viable business start-ups and grow these companies once established.

1.Smartouch Media
Smartouch Media specialises in building affordable, functional e-commerce websites and smart phone applications for the Apple App Store, the Android market and the Windows platform. Smartouch Media have built open data and location based apps. We have design websites and assisted companies in developing an online presence.
2.Compare Book Pass
Compare Book Pass is an online platform for learner drivers, formed by DCU graduates in 2011. The platform allows learner drivers to search, review, rank and book approved driving instructors in their locality. Compare Book Pass is designed to increase revenue, improve customer service for driving instructors and lets learner drivers book lessons in a safe and easy way.
3.Talentevo
Talentevo is a cloud-based performance management software. The core product allows companies to identify staff performance and implement a consistent performance management process. Talentevo aligns employee performance with company goals and objectives. This supports HR to reinvest time back into staff, identifies poor performance early and gives managers better insight into their team.
4.Imagine Sunglasses
Imagine Sunglasses is a designer sunglasses website. It's a one-stop shop for the latest styles and fashion trends in sunglasses. The easy to use site stocks the best brands available online. All sunglasses sold on the online store are priced at a competitive price.
5.Sanncus
Sanncus specialises in software asset management. The product offers software asset management services, consultancy and training to ensure that all organizations are compliant in regard to software licensing.
6. AerTv
AerTv is a free online platform streaming Irish channels. Channels include RTE one, RTE two, TV3, TG4. 3e and RTE jr. AerTV is making television in the Republic of Ireland more mobile than ever, allowing you to stream broadcast TV through your laptop, PC or mobile devices. AerTv also aims to expand Ireland's channel offering through niche channels.
7. Edubills
Edubills offers an online payment and ordering system to schools. The site enables parents to pay school bills and buy school supplies securely and directly into the schools bank account. Edubills offers a cashless, secure payment solution; which benefits both parents and schools. This in turn alleviates administration time and security concerns.

Mydoggyhotel is an online booking website for quality pet accommodation in Ireland. The site helps pet owners to find, compare, and book online the best pet accommodation available. A description of facilities, pictures and map-location of each pet-accommodation is provided for the users' ease of choice.
9. Rentview
Rentview is a cloud based rent and property management platform for the property letting industry. The software application allows estate and letting agencies manage letting & management portfolio through an on-line account. Rentview is designed to increase revenue and reduce admin time. It aims to help minimise and prevent rent arrears and provide a greater customer service to landlords and tenants.
10. Nimble Tours
Nimble Tours creates professional multimedia tour guide apps for mobile devices. The platform enables tour operators to develop mobile applications in a simple cost effective method. Nimble Tours increases the user experience with GPS, mapping and multimedia capabilities of the phone replace bulky tour guides, flimsy pamphlets and web sites.
11. Dairy Lims
Dairy Lims is a cloud web-based laboratory information management system designed specifically for the dairy industry. For more than 20 years, the company has designed and developed software software for the agricultural sector in Ireland. The product helps improve the accuracy of lab reporting, increases transparency and offers secure online lab access through the cloud based offerings.
12. Maybe Video
Maybe Video is Ireland's first online space for video producers to connect with individuals or businesses demanding high-quality video. The site allows video producers to search and apply for posted video projects, of interest to them. Maybe Video allows customers the ability to review video producers' profiles and portfolio in order to find the best.
