DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship launches new drive to create jobs for
unemployed graduates and promote innovation

11 October 2010

In line with the creative thinking and vision of its founder, the late Dr. Tony Ryan, the DCU Ryan Academy has launched a practical action plan and programme to address critical issues in today's economic and social environment.

The 'Business Innovation Programme' will provide new expertise and skill sets to unemployed graduates and seek to promote and drive more innovation in Ireland. Based at its modern campus in Citywest, Dublin, the DCU Ryan Academy will train 120 unemployed graduates and professionals with relevant work experience to become specialists in innovation and thereby improve their employment prospects and to support increased implementation of innovation in companies and organisations in Ireland.

The programme will be delivered to selected candidates in the Dublin region over a seven month period, commencing 26 October 2010. It is supported by the Government's Labour Market Activation Fund, with active involvement and support from The Department of Social Welfare, The Department of Education and Skills, Enterprise Ireland and a cross section of academic/business experts from DCU, international and Irish partners.
