Bill Cullen, Renault Ireland

Bill Cullen, Renault Ireland, Prof Brian MacCraith, DCU’s BDI and Henk van Engelen, ASML Foundation were awarded the 2007 Leadership Awards at the 2007 DCU Leadership Circle Dinner, Friday 29 June.

Bill Cullen received the award in recognition of his leadership in supporting DCU’s Sports Academy, Prof MacCraith for his lifetime of achievement in research and Henk van Engelen, for ASML’s long-standing support of the DCU Access Achievement Awards.

The evening’s Guest of Honour was DCU’s newly appointed Chancellor, David Byrne S.C. who provided the group with an inspiring after dinner speech highlighting some of the many scientific advances DCU research has made, particularly in the medical and health care sector.

The DCU Leadership Circle is a celebration of the generosity of donors who make annual contributions in excess of €1,000 annually to Dublin City University. Members of the DCU Governing Authority, staff and Student’s Union joined the guests on the evening.

The evening concluded with the inauguration of the DCU Leadership Awards, presented by DCU President, Ferdinand von Prondzynski and Educational Trust Chairman, Brian Hayes.

Guest gifts were sponsored by Beiersdorf Ireland, Butlers Chocolates Limited, Diageo Ireland, Harmonia Limited, Sundrelle Limited and Unilever Limited.
