DCU Cricket Club Intervarsity Success

DCU Cricket Club have won the Irish Universities Cricket Intervarsities hosted by Trinity College Dublin. Throughout the tournament, DCU remained unbeaten, with victories over Queens University Belfast and Dublin Business School in the group stages. DCU victoriously beat Trinity College at their home ground in the semi finals and University College Dublin in the final.

In the clubs 3-year history they have won the Indoor Cricket Intervarsity in 2007 and now the Outdoor Intervarsity beating long established clubs with strong reputations.

Three DCU players have also been selected for the Irish Universities team. This team is the showcase of the best players on the Irish Universities cricket scene. Mandeep Rathee (ICE2), Theo Lawson (BT2) and Vipul Gargya (GCB3) have been selected for this years squad with Vipul Gargya selected as Vice Captain of the team. The Irish Universities squad will be playing matches against visiting teams in Ireland over the coming months.
