Monday 26 March 2007

A "Walk in the Park for a Healthy Heart" is an initiative being run by the Student Activities and Sport & Recreation Services in conjunction with the Students’ Union. The purpose of the “Walk in the Park” is to raise awareness of the importance of taking daily exercise, increase participation and raise money for the Irish Heart Foundation.

The walk(s) takes place on Tuesday 3rd of April from 12.30pm to 2pm leaving from the Albert College Park entrance. All you have to do is make a small donation at the gate and “take a walk in the park for a healthy heart”. The walk will take no longer than 15 - 20 minutes to complete and you are welcome to walk as many times as you wish. (Comfortable clothing and shoes are advisable). There will be a stretching station, water station, fruit station and lots of entertainment on the day provided by DCU clubs and societies.

I hope you will support this initiative and encourage all your friends, classmates and fellow colleagues to come on out and take a “walk in the park for a healthy heart.”

I look forward to seeing you on the day.
