DCU graduate Ciara Peelo, prepares for the Beijing Olympics

Ciara Peelo, a DCU graduate in Business Studies, is currently preparing for her participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing, this autumn.
One of Ireland's most dedicated and accomplished Olympic participants, she won the place on the Irish Olympic Sailing team by finishing 29th overall from a 116 boat fleet at the Women's Laser Radial World Championship in New Zealand.
Whilst studying at DCU, Ciara received the Chancellor's Medal for her contribution to university life. Not only did Ciara achieve enormous academic success, she managed to combine her studies with a variety of extra-curricular activities. She was involved in sport and was an active member of supporters clubs and the sports clubs committee. She also fundraised for charity events such as the Chernobyl walk and represented Ireland in the Sailing World Championships.
