International Symposium for Engineering Education
Wednesday 18 September 2007

Prof. Heather Ruskin, Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing opened the first International Symposium for Engineering Education at DCU. Delegates from the Europe, USA and many Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology are taking part in the two day long symposium which brings together those involved in the field of engineering education to share best practice and resources for teaching engineering. Speakers from a range of disciplines including those delivering science, mathematics and other related engineering subjects are presenting at the symposium. Exciting new innovations in teaching practice and tools for the educator to meet the ever evolving needs of the students will also be discussed.
This symposium organised by Dermot Brabazon, Abdul Olabi (School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering) and Muireann O’Keeffe (Learning Innovation Unit and NDLR) is proving to be a huge success and future annual symposiums of its kind will undoubtedly follow. Sponsors include NDLR, Mechanical Engineering Community of Practice, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Engineers Ireland, National Instruments, and Honeycomb Solutions.
