The first graduates of the International Bachelor of Science course, Vanessa Organo and Cassandra Smith received their degrees at the graduation ceremony at the University of Wollongong (Australia) on the 14th December 2009.  Representatives from the three partner universities were also in attendance, Professor Brett Paull from Dublin City University, Professor Rob Whelan from the University of Wollongong, Dubai and Professors Stein Sture and Professor Mike Grant from the University of Colorado, Boulder.     The Science International programme is an internationally unique four-year degree offered in collaboration by DCU, the University of Wollongong in Australia and the University of Colorado in the USA.   The programme provides students from the three institutions with the opportunity to discuss and evaluate environmental issues with their international counterparts. Within DCU, students take a module in years 1, 2 and 4 as part of a global classroom via videoconference with fellow students in the other universities and spend one semester in either Boulder or Wollongong.
