DCUtv raises over € 2000 for Japan Red Cross in 24 hour live broadcast

DCUtv, as part of the Media Production Society in DCU, conducted a 24 Hour Live Charity Broadcast Online to raise money for the Red Cross in Japan. Broadcast live from the TV Studios in the Henry Grattan Building, DCU and streamed online at www.DCUtv.ie,, viewers were able to participate via email and text messages with donations being made online.

Over €2000 was raised, hiting the target 10mins before the countdown to midnight! It was a magnificent feat and and the students involved showed their ability and determination to conduct a scheduled 24 live broadcast with scripted and unscripted shows. It included panel shows, music and open mic performances, comedy sketches and appeals for The Red Cross in Japan.
