DCU Sport launched its new sporting partnership with DCU Mercy this weekend with a women's super league basketball tournament on the Championship Court in the University Sports Club. The DCU Mercy team consists of players from DCU and the Mercy Basketball Club.

Eight top teams from all over the country played in the tournament over three-days DCU Mercy won the tournament with a 31-point victory over Wildcats.

Basketball is the fourth key sport within DCU. This partnership provides students with a pathway from varsity level basketball.

Ken Robinson Head of DCU Sport said he is delighted with the new initiative."I believe as a University we can cater for several more core sports and this is the latest addition. Head Coach Mark Ingle will bring his expertise and this combined with the facility will provide a platform for our team to achieve greater success. It will also create a pathway for our varsity team to progress and develop."
