DCU Professional Doctorate programme
Friday 2 November 2006

DCU School of Education Studies and Business school have launched a new professional doctorate programme. The first of its type in the University, the Programme involves both a taught element and a dissertation.
The Programme is a joint effort between DCU Business and the School of Education Studies with students taking common modules together and specialist track modules in their own discipline e.g., marketing, or educational leadership.
A unique aspect of the programme is that the structure allows students who opt for a particular specialist track to audit modules from one of the other specialist tracks.
The first group began their modules on Thursday November 2nd and consists of 18 students from Education and 12 from the Business School.
It is hoped that this structure will in future accommodate other schools in the University that want to become part of the professional doctorate programme.
