Memory Works at DCU

Dr Kate Irving

DCU is now opening a clinic called Memory Works.  Memory works is a screening clinic aimed at identifying  people with a pathological reason for their memory problems and those who do not. Its aim is to fill a gap in the existing health service for people who feel that their memory is a problem. The service, which is available to anyone over 40, works on a self referral or GP referral basis.

Poor memory can be the result of lack of exercise, mental stimulation, emotional worries, a stressful lifestyle, problems at home or at work, etc.  In short, the clinic can help alleviate clients' concerns about their poor memory by finding out the underlying cause of the problem.

The clinic is run by Dr Kate Irving, a lecturer in Nursing in the School of Nursing, DCU.  Kate appeared on The Gerry Ryan Show today, Thursday, 12 February 2009. Kate was interviewed by Gerry at 10.20am to listen to the interview click here.
