Memorial Garden dedicated to deceased members of DCU Community

The memory of deceased students and staff and others who, in their lifetime, were associated with the university was honoured today in a multi-faith dedication ceremony which saw the launching of a new Memorial Garden.
Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski spoke at the ceremony and said that the garden gives us all the opportunity to remember those who were with us, and in a sense, continue to remain part of the DCU community in our memories. He thanked those who had been involved in the setting up of the garden, paying particular tribute to Tomas Mac Eoin, Fr Joe Jones, Rev. Robert Lawson and the Memorial Garden Committee. He also thanked Muireann Ni Dhuigneain for her beautiful musical contribution.
The names of the deceased members of the university community are recorded in a book of remembrance which is held in the Interfaith Centre on campus. If you would like to see the book or add names, please contact Reception at the Interfaith Centre. Updated photos of the memorial garden can be viewed at the webpage: www.dcu.ie/memorialgarden
