Japanese Ambassador welcomes four DCU Graduates on the JET Programme 2011

Congratulations to four DCU graduates who are jetting off to Japan for the 2011 JET programme.
The JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) Programme promotes foreign language education in Japan, and international exchange at the grass roots level by fostering ties between Japanese citizens and JET participants. It offers third level graduates the opportunity to experience and participate in the unique culture of Japan, and to act as ambassadors for Ireland, introducing all aspects of their culture to Japanese people by working in schools and local government offices in Japan.
On Saturday 2 July, His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to Ireland, Mr. Chihiro Atsumi hosted a reception to this year's successful Irish JETs.
The four DCU graduates are:
Colin McCormack, Marketing Innovation & Technology
Jack Hyland, Contemporary Culture and Society
Heber Rowan, MA in Development
Aoife Bradley, International Business and Languages (Japanese)
900 Irish graduates have participated on the JET Programme since 1988. Graduates are drawn from a wide variety of disciplines.
