Launch of new Bus Eireann service – Navan – Ratoath – Dunshaughlin – Dublin Airport - DCU
Monday 22 January 2008

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey, TD, today launched the new Bus Eireann service which will link Navan, Ratoath, Dunshaughlin and Dublin Airport to DCU.
The service operates hourly in both directions with a total of 34 daily departures seven days a week. The earliest service from Navan departs at 5am with departures operating until 9pm. Services from Dublin Airport operate to Navan from 6.20am until 10.20pm.
DCU’s Director of Access and Student Recruitment, Ita Tobin, said “This new bus route opens up opportunities for students living in the Navan, Ratoath, Dunshaughlin and surrounding areas, who can now travel to DCU in less than an hour. The service will also have a huge beneficial financial impact on parents; because students can commute from home, they no longer need to look and pay for accommodation in Dublin. While getting to DCU may have been a problematic issue in the past, this is no longer the case and the university welcomes any initiative that makes DCU even more accessible to all its students”.
Details on the new 109A service are available on the Bus Eireann website: www.buseireann.ie
