DCU in the Community and the DCU Access Service at the Ballymun Education Fair

Ballymun Education Fair
(L to R) Cathy McLoughlin, Project Officer, DCU in the Community, Minister for Lifelong Learning, Sean Haughey TD and Margaret Keane, Academic Liaison Officer, DCU in the Community

DCU in the Community, together with the DCU Access Service, recently formed part of the Ballymun Education Fair at the new Ballymun Civic Centre along with 30 other educational organisations from the area.

The event, opened by Minister for Lifelong Learning, Séan Haughey TD and organized by Ballymun Partnership, offered people in Ballymun and surrounding communities an opportunity to talk to providers of all forms of education. It gave DCU in the Community and the Access Service an opportunity to show what DCU can also do for people in the area.

DCU in the Community, through its recently opened centre in Shangan Road in Ballymun, is currently signing up people in the community for languages, academic English and ICT short courses as well as taster courses for third level. Contact Cathy McLoughlin on 01 700 8814 if you are interested.

If you are working in DCU and would like to volunteer by way of training or course delivery or have any other project ideas that could engage the community, please contact Margaret Keane, Academic Liaison Officer for DCU in the Community on 01 700 7790.
