Boys in Blue bring Sam Maguire to DCU

First-year students attending an Orientation session in the Helix received a welcome surprise today when DCU secretary, Martin Conry, introduced four members of this year's winning All-Ireland football team. Carrying the Sam Maguire cup, Dublin players Bryan Cullen (captain), James McCarthy, Paul Flynn and Philly McMahon received rapturous applause from the students, who were then given the opportunity to pose for photographs in the foyer.

This year's Dublin panel included a total of five DCU students and six DCU graduates:

• Paul Flynn (B.Sc PE and Biology)
• Philly McMahon (B.Sc Education and Training)
• Bryan Cullen, PhD in Exercise Physiology

• Steven Cluxton (B.Sc. in Sc.Ed. 2006)
• Paul Casey (B.Sc Sports Science and Health 2007)
• Declan Lally (M.Sc. in Business Management 2007)
