DCU Health Fair

The second DCU Health Fair is taking place on the 2nd of April 08’ at The Street in the Henry Grattan building. This is a fun and interactive day providing valuable health information to all students and staff. There are 16 key health experts who will visit the campus for this event to answer queries on nutrition, exercise, asthma, psoriasis, meningitis, migraine, cancer awareness etc.
Smokers can avail of the free carbon monoxide testing and gained advice on smoking cessation. Therapists from Walmer House will kindly give free back, neck and shoulder massages throughout the day. Lively music will be provided by the music society.
A free competition will take place for a laptop sponsored by Lenovo International. This will involve a short quiz on various health topics with answers provided from the stands.
The student health medical team is running a programme of 15 min questions and answers sessions in CG12 on various student-focused health issues such as sexual health, skin topics and travel care.
This is a Health Promotion initiative organised by Caroline Temple and the staff from the Student Health Service. Our aim for this event is to reach as many people as possible by offering free health education, to promote health awareness and to encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.
