DCU congratulates its Sporting Fingal winners

Stephen Paisley, Sporting Fingal captain, celebrates with team-mates after winning the FAI Ford Cup Final.

Four DCU students Stephen Paisley, Alan Kirby, Fiachra McArdle and Eamon Zayed, played for Sporting Fingal on Sunday, 23 November 2009 when they beat Sligo Rovers 2-1 in this years FAI Ford Cup Final. Sporting Fingal got the winning goal in the last minute of injury time.

This is the first FAI Ford Cup win for Sporting Fingal which was founded in 2007. DCU would like to congratulate the Sporting Fingal team on this Cup win and wish them well when they represent the League of Ireland in the Europa League next season.

John O’Brien, Sporting Fingal Club Secretary said ‘It is an underpinning philosophy of the Club to support players in their desire to continue their education and I am delighted to see four of our team members studying at DCU’.
