On Saturday 27 February 2010, DCU won the Sigerson Cup for the second time defeating UCC by 1-11 to 0-10. DCU had beaten UCD, Cork Institute of Technology and NUI Maynooth in previous games. The team won the O'Byrne Cup the previous weekend beating the holders Louth.

Team captain, Paddy Andrews, paid tribute to the huge commitment of the whole squad and thanked coaches Mich Bohan and Tony Diamond for their support and encouragement over many ardous training sessions.
