DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship launches the Mason Hayes+Curran Masterclass series by top international business experts
Wednesday 15 February 2006

Ireland’s future on the global economic stage is largely dependant on the country’s ability to foster entrepreneurial thinking and behaviour, according to leading US business expert, Professor Liam Fahey.
He will make these remarks at the first of a series of Mason Hayes+Curran sponsored masterclasses on Entrepreneurship and Competitive Advantage. The Professor Fahey masterclass will take place in the DCU Ryan Academy at 7.30pm to 9pm, on 16th February 2006.
“Where are the big ideas to get us there?” asks Professor Fahey. He will explain how and why the "big idea" is sometimes just a small idea that turns out to have real long-lasting customer value. The “idea” at the heart of entrepreneurial activity is always a product of insights according to Professor Fahey and getting from the “idea” to something useful is what proves so illusive to business today.
Commenting on the masterclass, Mason Hayes+Curran Managing Partner, Declan Moylan said, “Mason Hayes+Curran is delighted to be associated with the DCU Ryan Academy, which brings top international experts in their field, such as Professor Fahey, to Ireland. This series of masterclasses, by highly regarded international figures, will be fascinating for business leaders in Ireland, inspiring new thinking and new approaches to entrepreneurship”.
Professor Fahey is Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management at Babson College (USA) and Visiting Professor of Strategic Management at the Cranfield School of Management (UK). He is co-founder and a principal of Leadership Forum and the author or editor of eight books on business leadership.
Future masterclasses by international experts will include Professor Tom Esselman from Harvard and Altran technologies, and Professor Ken Morse from MIT, familiar to the Irish business community from the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards on RTE TV.
