Distinguished visitors to DCUBS

Denise Rousseau, Professor of Organizational Behavior at Carnegie Mellon University and Robbie O'Carroll, a High Performance Team consultant based in Arizona, gave two fascinating lectures in DCU Business School marking the start of the academic calendar.
Denise Rousseau, University Professor of Organizational Behavior at Carnegie Mellon University is international visitor to the DCU Business School and the Learning Innovation and Knowledge Research centre at DCU. Professor Rousseau is a recipient of a lifetime achievement award of the Academy of Management (AOM) and is a former past president of the AOM. She is currently hosted by Professor Patrick Flood and Dr Aoife Mc Dermott at DCU Business School. Professor Rousseau is collaborating with faculty and PhD students on a number of research projects on the leadership of organisational change and evidence based management.
Robbie O'Carroll has an extensive background in Operations, project management and manufacturing. He is a graduate of Harvard University and has published over 25 papers and book chapters and given numerous lectures on technology, organizational design and high performance/self-managed work teams. He is an expert on self managing teams, having worked as project engineer on building the Einstein Observatory for the Apollo Space Programme. He has published extensively on self managing teams in US journals.
As a professional sculptor, he is a member of the Arizona Artist Guild, Allied Artist of America and former member of the Copley Society of Boston. Bob O'Carroll recently donated a sculpture called ‘The Struggle’ to DCUBS for the boardroom.
