DCU HEA ‘Transformations’ Exhibition

Two research centres from DCU will be exhibiting at the HEA’s forthcoming ‘Transformations’ exhibition in the Science Gallery, TCD, from 27 November to 2 December.
The exhibition has been set up to celebrate ten years of the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions (PRTLI).
DCU’s National Centre for Sensor Research (NCSR) and the National Centre for Cellular Biology (NICB) will be showcasing their research at the event and you are welcome to visit the two displays.
The NICB discovers and develops a range of pharmaceutical products which treat a range of conditions from depression and infertility to cancer and diabetes. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to handle a plastic culture vessel with live cells, place it under a microscope and see first-hand what mammalian cells look like. The aim is to remove the mystery of cell culture and allow visitors to see how technology contributes directly to the quality of their lives.
The NCSR's 'Sensor Science' exhibit will give visitors the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the Botanic Gardens, and will examine the fluorescence of solutions when different light is applied to them. Wearable sensors for sport and personal health monitoring, and the development of future sensing technologies will also be amongst the exciting displays that comprise the NCSR's exhibit. Come and see it for yourself!
The exhibiton is open to the public and the opening hours are as follows:
