Dr Darach Turley, a senior lecturer in DCU Business School has recently been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct research at Georgetown University in Washington DC for the coming academic year.

The Fulbright Program, which has been running since 1945, fosters academic cooperation between the United States and other countries. To date over 250,000 scholars have received scholarships.

Darach’s teaching and research interests are mainly in the field of consumer behaviour. At Georgetown, Darach plans to work with Professor Gary Bamossy on two research projects that follow on his research to-date. The first involves the production of a video based on families and how they manage the disposition of a deceased member's belongings. The second will comprise a study looking at the marketplace interactions of a sample of people at different stages in the bereavement process with a range of product and service providers."
