Student Advice Centre opens for business
Tuesday 5 February 2008

The Student Advice Centre, which opens today, is situated just inside the main entrance of the Henry Grattan Building (opposite the main restaurant). It will provide students with information on support and development opportunities available to students who are registered at DCU.
There are now 2 'central' points of information for undergraduate and postgraduate students:
- Student Notice Boards in The Street (coordinated through the Student Advice Centre)
- Student Advice Centre
The Centre will provide:
- Advice to students on all supports / developmental opportunities available to them (in Student Support & Development - and information about all other support Units)
- A drop-in centre for students to pick up information leaflets on activities happening around the Campus
- A point for students with queries that do not have a 'natural home'
- A 'quick check' point for students wishing to check a room number / event etc. on the Web (computers available to the students for this)
- Appointment service for Counselling
The Student Recruitment Office will continue to provide support for prospective students. Other initiatives will follow this over the coming months - information will be posted on the web.
The following members of Student Support & Development involved in the Advice Centre are:
- Deirdre Moloney (Centre Manager) (Tel: 6281)
- Celine Geraghty (Tel: 5492)
- Victoria Kearns (part-time)
- Amanda Williams (part-time)
- Central Telephone Numbers: 7165 / 5165
The Centre is also open through lunchtime.
