Health4Life Conference at DCU

You are invited to attend a major 3-day nursing conference, Health4Life, at DCU on Wednesday 31 May - Friday 2 June. The launch takes place at 9.30am on Wednesday. Details on the conference are available at: www.dcu.ie/conferences/health4life/programme.shtml

The conference will examine recent research with children in Ireland which includes information on:

• measuring and monitoring child well-being in Ireland
• an investigation of children's experiences of participation in consultation and decision making within the Irish healthcare setting
• children's roles during clinic consultations: seen but not heard

Bioethics and Biosciences in a medical context will be examined, which raises issues of:

• scientific developments and challenges with stem cell research
• ethical and policy issues in stem cell research
• ethical issues and challenges with diagnostic testing

Other topics include:

• external breast prosthesis use and post mastectomy care: a national study of women's needs and experiences
• a national survey of the attitudes of Irish nurses to death and the care of dying patients
