Launch of ExWell health and sports medicine service - venue: Croke Park, Monday 20 June - 10.30am

ExWell Medical, in conjunction with Dublin City University, is hosting a press conference to launch its new health and sports medicine service. You are invited to attend the launch which will take place at 10.30 on Monday 20 June in Croke Park (Box 658, entrance from Cusack side of Croke Park). The speakers will include Malcolm O'Kelly, who has just returned injured from the Lions tour, and Dr Noel McCaffrey, lecturer and clinical expert with ExWell.

The activities of the new service will focus on health problems related to obesity and physical inactivity, but will also provide clinics on:

  • sports medicine
  • musculoskeletal medicine (aimed at injuries unrelated to sport, e.g. backpain, frozen shoulder, arthritis, occupational injury and whiplash)
  • exercise prescription clinic
  • weight management clinic
  • sports and general nutrition
  • performance psychology
  • executive `Exercise for Health and Performance' programme

The staff of the new clinic are highly skilled medical practitioners, sports psychologists and lecturers in the School of Health and Human Performance at Dublin City University, which has a national and international reputation for its research into the health-related problems of inactivity and obesity. Clients for the new clinic are expected to come from the corporate and the private sector and from all age groups. The clinic will be based in the DCU Sports Grounds on the Ballymun Road, and will also avail of the facilities of the new University Sports Club on the DCU campus.
