Launch of new online journal during Anti-Racist Workplace Week 2006
- 2 November 2006

Translocations: The Irish Migration, Race and Social Transformation Review will be launched as part of the Anti-Racist Workplace Week 2006. Translocations is a new Irish inter-university, open-access e-journal that aims to address the complex interaction of ‘race’ and migration in contemporary Ireland (www.imrstr.dcu.ie). It hopes to disseminate information on relevant research and policy debates with a clear interdisciplinary direction. The journal is not confined to the world of academia, however, and will reach out to practitioners such as policy-makers and civil society groups as well.

The launch of the journal will take place on Thursday, 9th of November, 3pm, at the National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism (Third Floor, Jervis House, Jervis Street, Dublin 1). Philip Watt, Director of the NCCRI, will introduce Professor Mary Hickmann (London Metropolitan University) who will officially launch the journal. This will be followed by a short wine reception.

If you have any further question about the launch or the journal, please contact one of the editors, Prof. Ronaldo Munck (ronnie.munck@dcu.ie) or the Managing Editor, Torben Krings (torben.krings@dcu.ie).
