Eleven contributions are published here from educationalists in Catalonia, Wales, The Basque Country, Scotland and Ireland. Their valuable insights provide an international framework for exploring the development of higher education that is culturally and linguistically distinctive.
This book explores all the major issues of resourcing, academic innovation and quality in higher education. Initiatives in university education though Irish are facing growing opportunities and challenges in an era of major technological change and increasingly competitive markets.
The conference and publication of proceedings are a major contribution by Dublin City University to this important national debate. The Irish experience is highly relevant to the development of higher education in an enlarged Europe where cultural diversity is a core value.
FIONTAR, DCU, established in 1993, is a centre for entrepreneurship education through Irish. It offers a BSc and an MSc programme.
