Michael Woods, Minister for Education, launched the new MBA programme specifically designed for CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) members on Monday 25 February. This new MBA has been specially devised with the needs of experienced middle managers in mind, who want to gain a more integrative and strategic focus with respect to business operations and decision-making.

It also provides managers with the full range of skills, knowledge and analytical and strategic capabilities they require to operate in today's dynamic and increasingly global business environment. Delivery modes of the programme include case studies, group work, oral presentation, team-teaching and team-building exercises.

The degree is taught part-time for a period of two academic years. Classes are held on one weekday (2.00pm - 8.30pm) and one weekday evening (6.30pm to 8.30pm). Occasional Saturday morning classes will also be held, as well as a number of two-day workshops which are designed around simulated business games.

Candidates for this programme should be fully qualified CIMA members with over 3 years post qualification experience. Candidates may be required to take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Selection takes place in July of the admitting year, and candidates may be called for interview.
