Yvonne O'Connor

Yvonne O'Connor has been appointed by Student Support & Development as the new Student Activities Officer. Her role is to develop the activities and contribution of student clubs and societies and to enhance extracurricular life on campus. Yvonne's main tasks include stimulating the growth of new clubs and societies, providing support and advice for activities and major events and facilitating the long term growth and development of clubs and societies. Yvonne plays an active role in the Societies and Publications Committee (SPC), the Sports Clubs Committee (SCC) and the SFC Health & Safety Working Group. Yvonne is also responsible for co-ordinating the administration of the Extracurricular Awards scheme (the Uaneen Awards).

Yvonne has an MA in Leisure Management from Sheffield University and has 10 years experience in sport and leisure management. Prior to joining DCU Yvonne spent 4½ years as the Assistant Head of Sport and Recreation at Bournemouth University. At Bournemouth University Yvonne was responsible for managing sports facilities, developing sports clubs and enhancing sport development opportunities for students, staff and the wider community.
