Calling all entrepreneurial students....
29 May 2002

There are two important deadlines approaching for students. They are Enterprise Ireland Student Awards, sponsored by Ulster Bank and The Coca-Cola National Enterprise Award; the deadlines are 28 June and 10 June, respectively.

DCU reached The Enterprise Ireland award final last year and have actually won the overall prize twice in previous years. This award gives students a chance to make their business ideas a reality. The successful winning entry will receive €6,500. In addition, there will be four prizes of €3,175 each for categories or new product ideas. A further prize of €5,000 will be presented by Cruickshank & Co. (Patent & Trade Mark Agents) for a technically innovative project. There will also be a prize of €6,500 available for postgraduates.

Students submitting entries should present proposals in not more then 15 pages, contact Sarah Ingle, DCUBS (details listed below) for further information relating application form and submission requirements.

The initiative for the The Coca-Cola National Enterprise Award is supported by Dundalk Institute of Technology and Drogheda Concentrates, the Coca-Cola concentrate manufacturing plant in Co. Louth.

The Awards Programme, with a total prize fund of €22850, is funded directly by the Coca-Cola Foundation in Atlanta, U.S.A., and targets Irish graduates with business ideas to encourage entrepreneurial skills.

While the prize money is a strong incentive, the successful entrants will also receive structured training, mentoring and a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Owner Management Business Planning.
