The Mallin DCU Start Up Award

invent is offering €60,000 to students, postgraduates or alumni who want to set up their own business.

With the generous support of Liavan Mallin (CA grad 1985) and a number of prominent Irish companies invent, DCU's new innovation and enterprise centre, is promoting The Mallin DCU Start Up Award for students, postgraduates and alumni who want to set up and develop their own company.

The winner will receive €10,000 in cash, free incubation space in invent for 12 months, complete office set up, financial advice from KPMG, legal advice from A&L Goodbody, advice on taxation, strategic marketing and project planning. This brings the total value of the prize to €60,000.

The judging panel will be looking for a really good business concept and a serious intent to start a business.

Business plans will be assessed by a panel of influential entrepreneurs and advisors to start ups including; Liavan Mallin as Chair, Barry Maloney, General Partner, Benchmark Capital, Tim McCarthy, General Manager, Dell Ireland Sales, Des Doyle, Manager, High Potential Start up Programme, Enterprise Ireland, Colin O Brien, Managing Director, KPMG Business Development Services and John Kelly, Head of Business Banking, AIB.

The business plan must be submitted by 26 July 2002.
