Microsoft Scholarship Awards 2004

The Microsoft Scholarship Awards 2004 took place on Thursday 26 August 2004. Keith McDonnell, David Lee, Niall Gallagher and Lucy Coleman, all second year BSc in Computer Applications students, were presented with the award by Dr Kevin Marshall, Academic Program Manager, Microsoft. Michael Murphy, DCU Educational Trust, Alistair Sutherland, Acting Head of the School of Computing and David Sinclair, Senior lecturer in the School of computing attended the ceremony.

To win the scholarship students were asked to submit a 5,000 word essay entitled `How to make computers easier to use'. Each student will receive cheque for €1256. This is the fourth year of a 5-year Microsoft EPDC Scholarship scheme.
