The President of the European Parliament, Irish MEP Pat Cox, will attend an event organised by FIONTAR, the Irish-medium centre for enterprise education at DCU which is also celebrating its 10 year anniversary. The President of the European Parliament will attend the final presentation of student business plans on Tuesday May 27 at 11am in room Q122, DCU Business School. A reception will be held at 2pm.

Cox, who is himself an Irish speaker, will officially launch the end of year presentations by students of their own business plans. As part of the final year programme, FIONTAR students establish their own companies and develop business ideas. This year, they cover a wide range of topics: team-building, organic food, a new outlet for sunglasses, consultancy services for employee health, services aimed at the NCT. He will talk about FIONTAR, minority languages in Europe and European enlargement.

Some FIONTAR graduates continue to develop the companies after leaving DCU. Two technology companies still in operation are Zamano and SUKA Technologies.
