European Parliament President attended Fiontar Enterprise Start-up Presentation

The President of the European Parliament, Irish MEP Pat Cox, attended Fiontar's Enterprise Start-up Awards in DCU on 27 May 2003. This celebration coincided with Fiontar's ten-year anniversary which was a landmark academic programme in education at that time.
Pat Cox , who spoke to a full house, said "The founding of Dublin City University, and the establishment of FIONTAR in particular, changed the climate of university education in Ireland. The applied nature of the academic programmes, the use of new communications technologies and the interdisciplinary dimension of programmes such as FIONTAR in particular, are noteworthy."
Niamh Ni Ogain, Clodaigh Ni Bhric, Cian O Braonain, fourth year Fiontar students, pictured above with Pat Cox, presented their business concept 'Peak Performances Ltd' would provide companies with health awareness programmes for employees in the workplace.
Brian 0'Conarain, Fionn Uibh Eachach and Aonghus Stiobhairt (pictured below), also fourth year students from Fiontar, presented their entrepreneurial business concept "Easy Riders NCT" which is aimed at people with NCT tests. This service would provided a driver that would collect the car, drive it to the designated NCT centre and then return the car to its owner after the scheduled test.
