Media Lab Europe and Higher Education Institutions to collaborate on 16 research projects
Media Lab Europe today announced details of 16 research projects being undertaken in collaboration with Irish higher education institutions. Media Lab Europe, situated off Thomas, is a research and development centre. Both researchers from Media Lab Europe and Irish higher education institution will work together.
€1.27 million per year is available to the higher education institutions creating new post-graduate and post-doctoral research positions. The Higher Education Authority (HEA) on behalf of the Department of Public Enterprise administers this scheme. There will be advertisement pertaining to these posts in the coming weeks.
Other universities, along with DCU, who are involved in projects are TCD, UCD and UL. DCU, the National University of Ireland Maynooth and St. Patrick's College, Dublin are each involved together in one project.
The Chief Executive Officer of Media Lab Europe, Dr. Rudy Burger, welcomed the new projects, saying: "These projects are real evidence of engagement between the Irish academic community and Media Lab Europe, and create many new positions for researchers in Ireland".
