DCU Staff Golf Society Treasurer, Malcolm Smyth presents a cheque for €320 in aid of St. Vincent De Paul to DCU Chaplin, Rev. John Gilligan. Also included in the photo are two members, Mary McGrath and Robert Clare with Ray Murphy, society secretary, on the far right.

The donation was raised by the golf society on its recent Christmas outing to Donabate Golf Club. The outing marked the end of play for the society for the very successful 2004 season. It is hoped that the Christmas outing will be a charity event every year.

Fifty different players took part in one or more DCU Staff Golf Society outings in 2004. Over thirty people attended a series of professional golf lessons organised by the society.

New members of all standards and from all parts of DCU are welcome to join the society. It is also hoped that 2005 can bring further progress in the Inter-Varsity event and produce another successful and enjoyable year for everyone.

Those interested in joining can contact Ray.Murphy@dcu.ie by email or on extension 8996. Further information is available at: http://www.eeng.dcu.ie/~golf/.

Those wishing to make a donation to Saint Vincent DePaul, which has raised €6000 through DCU in 2004, can contact Rev. John Gilligan at 7005268 or john.gilligan@dcu.ie.

The society extends its wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year to everyone.
