Celso Antunes took up his new role as Artistic Director of the National Chamber Choir yesterday, 30 April 2002. He was born in Brazil, but based in Cologne for the last 15 years, where he has been highly active on the European concert scene. He also makes regular visits as guest conductor to his native Brazil.

Ferdinand von Prondzynski, president of DCU and a director of the Board of the National Chamber Choir, took time out from his very busy schedule to welcome Celso to DCU and to wish him luck in his new role.

In his address to the 17 singers of the National Chamber Choir, Celso predicted exciting times ahead for the group with an emphasis on enlarging the Choir's repertoire and prestigious international touring.
