President's Teaching and Learning Awards 2003/2004

At a ceremony in the Hub today, the President of DCU, Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski paid tribute to all the nominees for this year's Teaching and Learning Awards. The awards are made annually to members of academic and support staff staff in recognition of their outstanding contribution to DCU's Teaching and Learning mission. Candidates are nominated by current students, graduates or other members of staff, but candidates with multiple nominations will be given extra weighting, providing each nomination provides evidence of a different facet of his or her contribution to teaching and learning.

Professor von Prondzynski then announced this year's winners: Eileen Courtney of the School of Nursing, and Angela Leahy of SALIS. "While research is the visible, international dimension of academic life, it is the teaching which has the greatest direct influence on students during their university life", he said.
