Dr. Maggie Gibbon receives Euro 230,000 EU Grant

Dr. Maggie Gibbon (SALIS) has received 230,000 Euro from the EU for the participation in the Princip Project.

The Princip project aims at the realisation of a multilingual system for detection of racist and revisionist documents on the Internet. DCU is one of a consortium of academic partners involved in Princip. Dr. Gibbon and her research team (Heinz Lechleiter, Patrick Martin, Edel Greevy and Catherine Spencer) will analyse racist and revisionist pages with the aim of building a linguistic knowledge base and implementing these linguistic patterns which will allow for detection of harmful content on the WWW.
