The Irish Fulbright Alumni Association (IFAA), had their annual dinner in St Patricks Hall in Dublin Castle last July. The event was attended by Mary Hanafin, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the US Ambassador His Excellency, Richard J Egan and presidents of all the Irish Universities. The dinner was also attended by IFAA committee members; Chairman of the Fulbright Commission Professor Pat Fottrell, Chief Executive Mrs Carmel Coyne of the Fulbright Commission and Prof John Hurley, IFAA Vice-President.

Thirteen Fulbright Scholars were presented with their scrolls, and the past President of the IFAA Professor Val Rice was presented with a Fulbright Medal

The Fulbright Program, established in America in 1946 at the end of World War 2, is a program that facilitates international educational exchanges.
