ABC Director Launches Programme

The Director of the Anti-Bullying Centre in the School of Education Studies at DCU, Dr James O'Higgins Norman, was invited, with RTE's Miriam O'Callaghan, to launch a new programme aimed at promoting learning about diversity and reducing homophobia in schools.

Dr. James O'Higgins Norman spoke about the need to focus on education as a human right and how programmes such as ShoutOut can help to promote among young people an understanding of diversity and thus reduce bullying based on perceptions of sexual orientation. The launch was attended by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, politicians, educationalists, activists and media.
