Better Entrepreneurship Online

DCU has hosted a one-day workshop unveiling a new Better Entrepreneurship Online Tool with a particular focus on social entrepreneurship.

As social enterprises face a number of barriers that hinder their development, public policies at national and subnational levels have a central role to play in helping them overcome these barriers.

This tool, developed by the OECD and the European Commission aims to catalyse policies supporting social enterprise development. It aims to better inform, encourage experimentation and engage stakeholders in designing and implementing policies and programmes that can boost social enterprise creation and development.

Workshop participants at DCU, representing the social enterprise ecosystem in Ireland, were the first in Europe to test and provide feedback on the prototype which will be rolled out to enterprise communities throughout the European Union.
