DCU moves up in global university rankings

Dublin City University has been ranked in the top 600 universities in the world, up from a ranking of 601-700 last year to 501-600. It is one of only two Irish universities to improve its overall ranking this year.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Now in its 17th year, over 1500 institutions from 93 countries were ranked, drawing on data points of the world’s leading research universities and more than 22,0000 academic reputation survey responses. The exercise also analyses 13.6 million research publications and over 86 million citations over five years.

Welcoming DCU’s success in these published rankings, President of DCU, Professor Daire Keogh, said:

“DCU’s performance in these global rankings demonstrates the progress we are making in advancing our reputation for world-class research - a key strategic goal for the University. The advance is a recognition of the hard work, excellence, and expertise of our staff and I want to congratulate them all on this significant global affirmation of their work.”
