This workshop, facilitated by DCU's Disability and Learning Support Service, will provide staff with an understanding of the role the DLSS plays in supporting students with a disability in DCU and how it supports staff to fulfil this role. Through the lens of Universal Design, it will examine the current profile of students registered with the DLSS, their learning needs and supports available including technology.

Attendees will:

  • Acquire an understanding of why and how the DLSS supports students in DCU
  • Be familiar with specific types of disabilities and how they can be accommodated in a university setting
  • Understand how the DLSS can assist staff in supporting students
