Standing Proud: Allyship and Advocacy for the LGBTQ+ Community [In-person]
Course Code: DCU247
In the current social, political, and cultural climate, LGBTQ+ rights are at risk around the globe. With disinformation, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment, and hate crimes on the rise, especially in regard to the transgender community, it is more important than ever to stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and colleagues at work and at home.
Join Certified Proud's Benjamin Foley (he/him) for an insightful training workshop this Pride month. Learn how to recognise and combat disinformation around transgender issues, understand the issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community today, and how you can become an active ally in supporting LGBTQ+ staff, students, friends, and family. This workshop will also include a Q&A session, during which Benjamin is delighted to answer your burning questions about the LGBTQ+ community, share his lived experiences as a transgender man, and help you figure out the best way to navigate any challenges you may be facing in being an LGBTQ+ ally.
