Academic biographyJohn White has worked as a primary school teacher, primary school principal, primary school inspector and is now working in the School of Policy and Practice. He has worked as a coordinator and Director of Professional Placement and now works as Director of the DCU Changemaker Schools Network. He also works on undergraduate and post-graduate programs in the Institute of Education. His interests include classroom communication, nonverbal communication, creativity, arts-based research, leadership, embodied cognition, Science and Mathematics education.
I have been involved in research in primary schools in the following fields: teaching skills, nonverbal communication, peer appraisal, leadership, well-being, embodied cognition, creativity and the use of arts-based methods in educational research.
Current research work examines the value and use of embodied cognition as a method for delivering science education in Irish primary schools.
