Science Education

Mechatronic Engineering

A labour intensive course that gets to the heart of Mechatronic Engineering. Graduates will come out thinking like engineers. It has a wider scope than mechanical or electronic engineering, resulting in perhaps a better understanding overall, and a better set of skills that can be applied to a very broad range of design and engineering problems. Mechanical Engineering

I am gaining real skills and experience in all aspects of Engineering and Business. Already I have a good working knowledge of day-to-day manufacturing and the business behind its operation. The employment possibilities are great, with the medical device and pharmaceutical industries being the obvious path for me. Computer Applications

There’s something for everyone in this course, because of the wide range of subject choices and different stream options. There is also a great support system in place for students, so although the course is challenging at times, there’s always help at hand.

International Business & Languages

I chose IBL because I wanted a course that would give me the best of both worlds: languages and business. In today’s world, a business degree isn’t always enough and someone who’s well-rounded and well-travelled, with a foreign language, can have a greater appeal for an organisation. I got a great grounding in all business aspects, allowing me to differentiate myself from others in my chosen specialisms of French and Finance.

I really enjoyed my time in DCU studying IBL. I am currently based in Listowel on the Kerry Group Graduate Programme. I am a commercial graduate, working in the Customer Services department of Kerry Ingredients Ireland. Economics, Politics and Law

This is an exceptionally interesting course, teaching you about how the world really works. There are unique modules taught nowhere else in Ireland and the lecturers have very innovative ways of teaching. But it’s not all about the course. DCU is the best University in the country with exceptionally active societies that actually reward students for getting involved. You get marks for extra-curricular work. And there’s a society for everyone. If I could change one thing I would make my time in DCU longer.

International Relations

With a varied content ranging from the study of political terrorism to women in politics, I feel my course has something to offer everyone – and, due to its structure, each student gets to study the areas that most interest them.
