About DCU Performance Sports

DCU recognises that sport plays an integral part in the social and educational lives of the student community and is committed to providing high-quality opportunities for students on all campuses. DCU is one of the leading third-level institutions in Ireland for sporting and academic excellence and is committed to enhancing the academic and sporting development of young sportsmen and women in Ireland, as well as making a positive impact on the future of Irish sport. DCU is committed to supporting dual careers for talented athletes who are in full-time education through our performance sports programmes. Performance Sports programmes offer opportunities for athletes to develop and excel in sport during their time at university.   Performance Sports also provide opportunities for students to represent DCU in competitive sport at national intervarsity and/or European and World University level.

DCU offers two Performance Sport Programmes:

Sport Scholarships

Please note applications for the CAO Points Concession and Sport Scholarship programmes for the 2023-2024 academic year are closed.  Applications for these programmes are accepted on an annual basis and applications for the 2024-2025 academic year will open on the 1st of February 2024.
